A Tiny Surprise

I opened my soothing Halls cough drop and, glancing down before I popped it in my mouth, noticed an out of place dark line. On closer inspection, I saw the line was actually three dead ants. Their quest for sugar gold had led them to this amber tomb. OK, a little gross. But I was a little more worried because I ate several of these in the dark yesterday evening. And this drop was in the middle of the package. Yes, I probably ate some of their ant siblings last night.

I bought this package of Halls cough drops while experiencing my annual Christmas cold, this time in Hawaii. I'm sure that's their homeland.
