Things are Looking Up
I'm finally starting to feel better, I think. It's a work in progress. I am pretty sure I haven't been this sick since July 1996.
I'm actually thinking of going somewhere, just for the joy of getting out of the house. Henry and Caesar want to get out of the house, too.

Triple-ply Kleenex
Once you've had triple-ply Kleenex, you just can't use anything else. I've gone through at least four boxes, and my nose would be so much more sore without them. All my garbage cans basically look like this right now.

Baby Hercule Poirot
This is Poirot back when he was solving little cases like binkie
snatchings and missing toys. He didn't graduate to solving murders
until he was potty-trained.

He's Serious
He seemed very somber this morning, even though he's rockin' his
velvety Janie & Jack pajamas.

I continue to complain about how sick I feel and my inability to
breathe. I tried the Neti pot, but my nose is so plugged up it doesn't
work. Thanks for nothing, Dr Oz.

A Tiny Surprise
I opened my soothing Halls cough drop and, glancing down before I popped it in my mouth, noticed an out of place dark line. On closer inspection, I saw the line was actually three dead ants. Their quest for sugar gold had led them to this amber tomb. OK, a little gross. But I was a little more worried because I ate several of these in the dark yesterday evening. And this drop was in the middle of the package. Yes, I probably ate some of their ant siblings last night.
I bought this package of Halls cough drops while experiencing my annual Christmas cold, this time in Hawaii. I'm sure that's their homeland.

Some Cheese With My Whine?
It has not been a real pleasant week. I've had a nasty cold bug and have been so tired from the disrupted sleep it causes. It seems every morning since Wednesday I've woken up with a new symptom. Thursday, my nose had been stuffed up. I went to a meeting in the evening, and suddenly it was as if a faucet in my nose had been turned on and it all game gushing out. Later, I developed a horrible cough, then a sore throat, and my nose became stuffier than ever. Sunday I felt as if I had been run over by something, I was so worn out.
The worse part about this has been the social isolation. You can't go visit people and take a contagion with you. I may have very little time left in St. Louis (depending on the results of match day in two weeks) and I don't want to spend them holed up in my apartment. I am getting cabin fever, and am optimistic I will be going somewhere tomorrow.
For anyone needing sudafed, you can buy generic Pseudoephedrine at the Sam's Club pharmacy for less than two dollars for 96 tablets. The difference in price between Walgreen's and Sam's payed for my gas to get to Sam's, and bought me a soft drink.
