One of my favorite St. Louis people is in town, visiting her husband's family. Natalie sneaked away in the wee hours of the morning (9:00) to come over to my house. I was very excited, but also very conniving. I knew Natalie has experience and taste in painting, and we all know from the pictures of my living room that I need to do some painting. She took the bait, and within moments of coming into the house, was throwing tape on the wall to create sections for sample painting. I've been accumulating samples since moving here, but I've been worried that I'll never actually make a decision.
Here are the paint samples. Click on the picture for a larger view. There is now a poll on the blog, to ask your opinion of which color I should use. The poll is non-binding, but I'm very susceptible to peer pressure. Natalie and I felt really great about one of the colors, but then Nick came home and disagreed. In fact, he doesn't think any of them are good enough. In his view, the perfect color would be between the Toasted Cashew and Hush. Hush is a Benjamin Moore color, and the rest are Behr.
Vote in the poll, and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Copycat! Using a blog poll to weasel your way out of making your own decisions. (I still haven't gotten new glasses, but it's not out of indecision - I'm waiting on a paycheck.)
I don't have any taste. I will think whatever you decide on will be wonderful. Love, Toots
Quick! Behr paint is on sale this weekend at the Home Depot. Although, my first choice is Hush and my second is Pewter Whatever or Whatever Pewter.
Is your baby in Utah but you are in St. Louis? I'm confused! And we do NEED to get together when you come to UT.
Wait a second. Is that a framed xray of baby Henry from the time he swallowed the Foreign Body? If so, you're off to a spectacular start with the decorating already! I miss you guys! What a fun bunch of people. I am picking up a 5 gallon bucket of Behr Ultra Pure White in high gloss tomorrow for downstairs trim, doors, window sills, ceilings...better make that 5 gallons x 2. That project oughta keep me occupied til it's time to make another paint decision. ;)
I like hush
I can't even imagine how much fun the two of you had that morning painting your wall!s
Before you put this up I was thinking something in the blue family would be good from the limited information I have about the room. I know you said it didn't have as much light as you place in St. Louis. Blue can be a relaxing soothing color. I'm not crazy about the blue you show but it might work great in your room. Depending, you might also consider an accent wall. anxious to hear what you and Nat liked best. good luck and remember in the whole scheme of home ownership paint is cheap, if it turns out you dont love what you chose, go buy more paint.
I'm with Nick, I like either of those.
I love Gallery Taupe best myself, but they are all beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished product! :)
